Welcome Summer - Recognizing and Respecting Cycles
Welcoming in a season can help us navigate the changes in our surrounding environment. Let’s welcome summer together, and take a look at the cycles that exist naturally in our seasons, our relationships, our personal experiences. Through meditation and an asana practice we will take a look at how the seasons around us reflect and inspire our individual experience. We will use movement as a way to metaphorically explore the naturally occuring cycles in our surroundings: the seasons, the lunar cycle, the four directions - and any others you can think of! There will be a strong focus on the “heat” of summer, but we will also talk about tools to transition through all the seasons and battle some of the “negative” feelings that come up yearly for us in different seasons. Please bring a water bottle, a snack for yourself, something to write with and on, comfortable clothes you can move in, and something you found in nature (a flower, stone, shell, leaf, etc, etc!). Yoga mats provided.
